Lord Rama strings the bow.
King Janaka had announced that whosoever wanted to marry Sita had to lift the divine bow, 'Pinaka' and string it.
The bow was broken by Ayodhya's prince Rama when he attempted to string the bow, during the swayamvara of Sita,
thereby winning the princess's hand in marriage.
While being strung, Pinaka created an enormous sound that brought angry Parashu-Rama, a disciple of Shiva,
to the place. Parashu-Rama recognises Rama as an (8th) Avatar of Vishnu,
the middle of the Hindu trinity of Brahma (creator) – Vishnu (care-taker) – Shiva (destroyer / recreator).
The entire painting is meticulously hand painted with dots using dotting technique.
Dot painting requires many hours of focused attention, patience and dedication.
